Our Lead Pastor
A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.
Kenol was born and raised in Port au Prince, Haiti. His mother Lizanne became a Christian when he was 8 years old and brought him along to every church service she attended. Lizanne was unable to read. For years she had Kenol take notes during every service and before he went to bed she would have him explain the sermon to her and read each scripture reference he had written down in his notes. They were baptized together when Kenol was 12 years old.
Kenol’s father, and the family provider, passed away when he was 15. This left the family hopeless as they depended on him for all things. Kenol cried out to the Lord in desperation and hopelessness at that time. The Lord spoke to him saying, I will do more for you than your earthly Father ever could, follow me. It was then that Kenol became a serious follower of Jesus Christ.
At 17 Kenol entered Bible College. He was mentored by Pastor Jean Jacques Estin during his studies and was offered a pastoral position at Church on the Rock, Haiti and a teaching position at the Bible college he attended upon graduation. He continued his studies and graduated with a Ph.D in Theology from International Faith Theological Seminary in Delmas, Haiti in 2009.
Kenol was married in 2002 to Mariane. Together they had four children, Joshua, Olivier, Joseph and Chris. In 2010 Mariane was attending her second year of Bible College. Kenol was teaching her class on January 12, 2010 when a terrible earthquake hit Haiti. The building they were both in at the time of the earthquake collapsed. Kenol was miraculously saved, being the only person in the building who made it out before the building collapsed. Mariane, however, did not survive.
Four months after losing his wife his youngest son began showing signs of neurological issues. They soon learned he had a brain tumour. It was through this second tragic event that Kenol got to know his current wife Rachel, a lifelong member of Falls View BIC church, who had been serving in Haiti as a missionary since 2006. Together they worked tirelessly to get a medical visa to send Chris to the United States for care. Unfortunately it was too late and Chris passed away on January 11, 2011.
Kenol and Rachel’s lives were connected through tragedy and they soon fell head over heels in love. They were married in Haiti on February 11, 2012. It was a wonderful celebration of God’s heart for his children. Rachel was an orphanage director and every child in the orphanage was part of their wedding party, more than 70 people. In November 2014 they welcomed their daughter Jubilee, and their son Zander in March 2019.
Kenol and Rachel served together in Haiti until December 2016 when they answered the call to come pastor Falls View Church. Kenol’s passions include discipleship, leadership development and worship. He loves people and can be found out in the foyer after almost every service ready to meet and greet guests and church families.
